I suppose you are being facetious in saying "I don’t know, and I don’t care," in the preceding comment.
But, I have to say that we should care.
Like it or not, we are faced with ethical decisions all the time. We don't have the direction of a supposed divinity to rely on.
It's important that we are able to determine the right thing to do, and understand the reasons.
About the existence of god - I really don't care. But on the issues of right and wrong, I do care. And, I think, so should others.
