Prayers Answered?

In today's National Post[1], the headline over an article on the Pope's health read:
PRAYERS ANSWERED
AS POPE RECOVERING
Here's a fearless prediction, using precisely none of my non-existent psychic powers: when this frail old man dies, as inevitably he will, the headline over the story will not say:[2]
PRAYERS GO UNANSWERED
AS AILING POPE DIES
- National Post, Page A10, Thursday February 3, 2005
- A somewhat different version of the above was sent in to the National Post as a letter to the editor. It was published on page A11 Friday February 4, 2005 as follows
- Pope Headlines
Scanning the headlines, I notice the Post prominently attributed the Pope's recovery to "Prayers Answered." I take it that when this frail old man dies, you will headline it "Prayers Go Unanswered."
